UNCG 77, Mocs 69

And that is why Trevis Simpson is one of the top players in the SoCon.

Simpson poured in 41 points with seven rebounds. Simpson was almost unstoppable. Of course, that's not too surprising. He has long been one of the best players in the SoCon for the last two years and he showed why he is one of the most entertaining players.

Derrelle Armstrong shot just 1 of 11 from the field. He scored just two points. That was the good news for the Mocs. If you can shut down Armstrong, you should be able to win most of the time, but allowing Simpson to go off for 41 never gets the job done.

Simpson  appears to finally be healthy again. He could really dominate the SoCon the rest of the year, and if he does that, then the Spartans may be able to go far.

Z Mason again was great for the Mocs. He scored 18 points and eleven rebounds. Gee McGhee scored 12 and had six assists.

So what do we make of the Mocs? The Mocs are off until next Saturday. They are struggling right now, with Dontay Hampton's injury and all the other struggles. The Mocs need something positive to happen. Can the Mocs survive all this?

They have a week to get better. A week to sort out all the problems. There was some weak rebounding in this one from the Mocs. The Mocs did not commit too many turnovers, really.

There is some hope for the Mocs here. Z Mason continues to look like an All SoCon performer. But the Mocs need a win. It's a huge week for the Mocs to get better. We'll see how it goes from here.

GO MOCS!
