--Those Saturday games loom large now. The teams in Charleston just switch. If Samford can sweep the Charleston swing with a win over The Citadel, they would be 3-1 in the SoCon all of the sudden. The Mocs-Cougars winner will be 3-1 in the SoCon, while the loser drops to 2-2. That matters.
--With Samford and Chattanooga both sitting at 2-1, UNCG's trip to Western Carolina is huge as well. They are 1-1, and Western is 3-0. If the Spartans don't want to lose contact in the North Division race, they almost need to have this road win over the Catamounts. It's awfully early for a must win, but the preseason favorite in the North needs a win badly.
--Elon goes to Appalachian State and both teams are 1-1 in the SoCon. With the Mountaineers upset at Wofford earlier this week, they have a chance to start making some real noise in the North with a home win over the Phoenix- the team most project as the winner of the North at this point.
--Georgia Southern goes to Wofford in a game between two 0-2 SoCon teams. The loser falls to 0-3 and can all but kiss a bye good-bye. Considering both teams were supposed to be in the thick of the bye race late into the year, this is surprising.
--Davidson's trip to Furman appears to be the least interesting game of Saturday. The Wildcats are huge favorites to come away with the win over the Paladins. But the Paladins played College of Charleston very close last Saturday and this week get a home game. Should the Wildcats be on upset alert? Probably not.
