--College of Charleston beat Appalachian State on Wednesday night 72-59, after a first half that saw the Mountaineers lead by as many as seven. The Cougars didn't play great at first, but they did find a way to win. A good win for the Cougars.--Trevis Simpson won SoCon Player of the Week, mainly because of his 41 points performance against Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon. It's hard to argue that he didn't deserve it after that showing.
--The saddest news of the day is that Elon's Austin Hamilton is out for the year. He has a torn ACL. That won't help the Phoenix chances of winning the SoCon. On top of that, I hope that Hamilton will be able to come back as good as ever. He is one of the better players in the SoCon when he is healthy. Elon plays UNCG on Thursday night.
