This week, the North race needs to start taking center stage- and it does. The problem is that Elon and UNCG have tough games this week and all of them are huge games. So which one should I pick?
Well, I eliminated Elon-WCU right off the bat because it was the least compelling of the four by far. Then I eliminated Georgia Southern-UNCG because it is on Saturday, and I am planning some special BracketBusters coverage for Saturday, and didn't want the extra game on there. So that left Elon's trip to Wofford and UNCG hosting CofC. Both games are big to both teams. CofC can catch Wofford for third with a win and a Wofford loss.
But the North division is in the Spartans hands. If they beat the Cougars while Wofford wins at home, they would be up by two full games on Elon, and Wofford would be up two games plus the tiebreaker on the Cougars, thus clinching no worse than the number three seed. If the Cougars win and Elon wins, the Phoenix would own the tiebreaker currently over UNCG and be tied, while the Cougars would move into a tie with the Terriers. It's actually a double-fisted set of big games. I went with the game where the North team was the home team. Should be a huge set of games.
