Double Dribbles- 2-9-12

1) The Battle for the North could be decided this weekend in a lot of ways. Both UNCG and Elon go to Samford and Chattanooga this weekend. The Mocs don't matter in this race, but the other three teams all matter. If Samford pulls off a sweep they can make real waves in the race, and jump into first. If any of those three teams gets swept this weekend, they could be in real trouble in the bye race for the North. This is a very interesting weekend in the North. Can't wait for the UNCG-Samford and Elon-Samford match-ups this weekend.

2) What about the race for third in the South? It's been popular opinion in recent weeks that either Georgia Southern or Wofford would get the second and third seeds in the South. What about if Wofford loses tonight? Furman hosts Appalachian State and Charleston hosts Western Carolina. With the way Appy and WCU have been performing, both home teams should win. That would put both the Paladins and the Cougars one game behind Wofford. Those results might change. But if the Terriers lose, and CofC and Furman win, this race gets really really interesting for the third seed in the South. Of course, the odds of all those results happening? Since I just said it in this little blurb- next to zero.
