1) Derrell Armstrong won his second consecutive SoCon Player of the Week for the UNCG Spartans. He poured home 50 points in their two wins. He averaged 25 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. He continues to have magnificent games. Armstrong 40 points in the second half and overtime against Appalachian State and Western Carolina. If the Spartans are going to continue on their current hot streak, Armstrong will have to continue playing up to his present level of play.
2) College of Charleston's trip to Elon should be really interesting on Thursday. Could the Cougars win a road game at Elon? The Cougars have gotten back onto the right track with their performance at Samford on Monday night. Can they turn around and come up with another road win over the Phoenix on Thursday night? This is critical for both teams. If Elon wants to get a bye, they need to keep on winning. If the Cougars want to get out of fifth in the South, they need to start winning consistently again. This should be a really interesting and fun game. It's the biggest and best game of Thursday night.
