Double Dribbles-2-6-12

1) Georgia Southern and Wofford are fighting it out for the number two seed out of the South. Both have games on Monday night that will be huge. Wofford visits Davidson in what is clearly their toughest remaining battle. Georgia Southern hosts Furman. If Furman upsets the Eagles, and Davidson beats Wofford, the Paladins can close the gap down to just one game for a bye out of the South. What a huge day Monday will be. On Thursday night, Wofford visits Georgia Southern. This is huge four days for the South Division bye race behind Davidson. Massive couple of games tomorrow.

2) Samford's shocking upset of Wofford gave them wins over Davidson and Wofford in a span of eight days. Who saw that coming? Shocking. The Bulldogs suddenly are 6-6 in SoCon play and are in third all by themselves in the North, just one game behind UNCG for second, and one and a half behind Elon for first. They host both teams this weekend, as does Chattanooga. In other words, if Samford wins two games this weekend, they could be in first place by the end of the night Saturday night. Huh? Really? Unbelievable. The North race has been turned absolutely on its head. UNCG and Samford were given up for dead heading into January, and now both have risen to the top. Can they stay there? This is a big week for both teams.
