1) Call it Revenge Wednesday. Samford stunned Davidson in Alabama to hand the Wildcats their first SoCon loss. Now, the Bulldogs really need to get a win to keep pace in the North, but Davidson wants to avenge their first league loss. College of Charleston was beaten at home by UNCG, as the Spartans got their first SoCon win, and the Cougars were exposed as a team that was maybe not quite as good as we thought. Now, the Cougars, fresh off an upset of Davidson, heads to Greensboro to take on the Spartans in a key game. Appalachian State lost at Chattanooga on a last second Dontay Hampton shot. Can the Mountaineers get revenge in Boone, or will the Mocs come up with their first road win of the year? Yep- Revenge Wednesday sounds about right.
2) Georgia Southern is tough to figure. The Eagles hammered Wofford and have been playing well, but have taken three overtimes to take out The Citadel in their two match-ups this year. The Bulldogs keep on challenging the Eagles, who seem to show their immaturity when they take on The Citadel. The Eagles desperately need to avoid a first round game, so that they will be more well rested than their quarterfinal opponent, and it may actually help them to play teams that people think the Eagles will lose to. That seems to benefit them to play in a game that people expect them to struggle in.
