1) The SoCon Player of the Week was named on Tuesday, and Andre Williamson from Appalachian State came away with the award. He averaged 17.5 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game during the week. He is tied for the league lead in blocked shots at the moment with 1.8 blocked shots per game and is fifth in the league in rebounding. He had a nice week for the Mountaineers. He needs to have a big week for the Mountaineers to contend in the North. At 1-1 in SoCon play, Williamson will need to have a big weekend against Samford and Chattanooga for the Mountaineers to stay in the race.
2) Mike Groselle of The Citadel leads the SoCon with eight double-doubles so far this year. This is really a remarkable stat. Trent Wiedeman is second in the league in double-doubles. The Charleston big man has three on the year, far behind Groselle's eight. Groselle gets a little lost on the Bulldogs since The Citadel has been near the bottom of the SoCon all year, but he deserves to be on plenty of All SoCon teams if he keeps up the pace to the end of the year.
