Double Dribbles- 1-20-12

1) Georgia Southern-College of Charleston on Saturday night should be one of the  most interesting games in the SoCon all year long. Should be absolutely tremendous. The Eagles and Cougars are battling for a bye out of the South. Wofford is in the race too. The fact is that Davidson has run away with the South division title. But the race for the second bye spot is really interesting. No team has the advantage right now. The Cougars have a slight edge since they have played tough road games. But the Eagles could really position themselves well with a win on Saturday. This is the biggest home game in a long time for Georgia Southern. This should be a great game.

2) Elon and Western Carolina are 3-3 in the North. Chattanooga, Appalachian State, and UNC-Greensboro are 3-4. Samford is 2-4. That means that in the North, all six teams are separated by one game. There is no telling what is going to happen from here. The Mocs are probably the most talented team, but they can not win a road game apparently. We'll figure out more on Saturday. UNCG hosts Samford, Elon hosts Chattanooga, and Western Carolina heads to Appalachian State. Saturday will provide a little bit more clarity in the North. This race is getting bizarre.
