Double Dribbles- 1-18-12

1) Ummm...thanks for showing up Toccoa Falls. Western Carolina hammered them by the score of 141-39. That's right- by 102 points. Sure, it was supposed to be an easy win for the Catamounts- but 102 poins is 102 points. That's an unbelievable spread. Western Carolina fans should be very satisfied to come up with the win, and should feel like their team is ready to come up with a solid performance against Appalachian State on Saturday. Should be good.

2) Jake Cohen of Davidson once again won the SoCon Player of the Week. He averaged 23.5 points per game last week. He shot 67% from the floor. He added five assists, five blocks and a steal on the week. He scored Davidson's first 13 points against Western Carolina to join the 1000 point club. A couple of weeks ago, three out of four writers named De'Mon Brooks as Player of the Year in the SoCon. After the way Cohen has played the last couple of weeks, it is looking  more and more like the other writer may have been right- Cohen might just be Player of the Year.
