1) Jake Cohen of Davidson was named the Player of the Week for this week for the SoCon. He averaged 19 points and 7 rebounds for the Wildcats. He was a deserving Player of the Week. Cohen is one of the top players in the SoCon. He deserves whatever he wins at this point. Cohen has always been good, but he has been raising his game to a different level. He is among the leaders in the country in free throw shooting. He could easily win Player of the Year.
2) One of the more interesting games in the SoCon this Thursday is Western Carolina's visit to Davidson. The Wildcats are the top team in the SoCon, but Western Carolina currently leads the North division. How will the Catamounts be able to hang in there with the Davidson big men? How will they be able to deal with the Wildcats home crowd? This is not going to be an easy one for them at all. Davidson is the clear favorite, particularly after the way they have played the last two games. But this should be an interesting game.
