ANALYSIS

The first major things happened in the Battle of the North vs. South. Two road teams won for the South against the North. One was not unexpected. Davidson beating UNC-Greensboro by 29 points was not surprising. However, Georgia Southern's upset of Elon was. Elon had been the clear North favorite up until now. Georgia Southern was unbeaten in SoCon play, but most people believed that they had kind of played over themselves. The Eagles beat the Phoenix on the road. Elon may not be as good as people think. The North looks way more up for grabs now than it did about three weeks ago. More importantly for this post, the South looks more and more clearly like the better division. It has never been so clear. And who would have thought that at this point, College of Charleston would rank fourth in the South, which is where they find themselves in the standings tonight. This once again proves just how strong the South is.
