Double Dribbles- 1-13-12

1) The story of the night in the SoCon has to be UNC-Greensboro Spartans seven point upset of College of Charleston on the Cougars home floor. If there was any outside shot of the Cougars getting an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament this has to end it. This is back-to-back Thursdays that Charleston has lost. They are now 3-2 in SoCon play. Considering that Davidson is 5-0 in SoCon play and Georgia Southern is 4-1 in conference play. It's good for the Cougars that they are only one game back of the bye race. They are lucky that Wofford is 2-3 in SoCon play despite beating the Cougars. The Cougars inconsistency continues to rear its ugly head. The Spartans finally came up with a win for Coach Miller- his first. This team may finally be gelling.

2) Could the North tie things up against the South? They are down two games to the South in the head to head match-up right now. Four games on Saturday should be interesting. Davidson goes to Appalachian State, while Western Carolina hosts Furman. College of Charleston hosts Elon and The Citadel hosts UNC-Greensboro. It should be a very interesting four games. The North needs to go 3-1 to tie up the Battle of the North vs. South. Should be a very interesting Saturday of games.
