1) Western Carolina gets a home date with Toccoa Falls tonight and so will end the SoCon's battles against the non-D1 teams. This is good news for the SoCon. Western should have no problem in this one, but they will not play on Thursday. This is the Catamounts last game before their huge rivalry match-up with Appalachian State that is going to play a large role in how the North race will be shaped heading into the next week.
2) Thursday's biggest game is College of Charleston's trip to Davidson. However, the most interesting game may just be Georgia Southern's trip to Furman. The Eagles have been a pleasant surprise so far, but have struggled on the road. In the mean time, Furman is fresh off an upset on the road against Western Carolina. The Paladins are hoping to get out of the fifth hole in the South. In the mean time, Georgia Southern is trying to stay in a strong position for a bye in the South. With a sweep this week over Furman and College of Charleston at home, and a Davidson home win over the Cougars, the Eagles can find themselves in a much different position in the South this week. This is a huge game for both teams, and I expect it to be one of the best games of the whole week. The Paladins can't match the Eagles athletically, but that certainly does not mean they can not win.
