SoCon Monster Game of the Week Recap: Davidson 72, Wofford 69

Honestly, I did not get to watch a tremendous amount of this game (I was watching the Mocs game). I do plan on watching the game on replay tomorrow night off of ESPN3.

Jake Cohen and De'Mon Brooks poured it in. They scored 26 and 23 respectively. No one else scored in double digits. JP Kuhlman did add 9 points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists, so he played well.

Wofford shot 52.7% from the floor, which was more than a little surprising. The Davidson defense has been very good so far this year, and the Terriers offense has been struggling. But the Terriers still managed to shoot at that clip.

The effort is there for the Terriers. They appear to be on their way to rebuilding much faster than anyone thought they would. It has been a very good start for the Terriers. There is an interesting battle that is going to happen between Wofford, Furman, and Georgia Southern for third in the South. It is going to be anyone's guess which team is going to win that battle.

Davidson has not played as well lately, struggling a bit with UNC-Wilmington and with Wofford tonight. Now, wins are wins. So there really can't be any complaining about that. That being said, they will probably need to play a little bit better in the coming weeks against Kansas and Vanderbilt, which are the games that will determine just how much the Wildcats are in the at large race for the NCAA Tournament.

Wofford is showing a lot of pride and is proving to be a much tougher out than most people expected heading into the year.
