ANALYSIS
This is before Wednesday night's games. The biggest problem I see is the SoCon's rank. Really? 27th? 28th? C'mon Socon! I expect more from you than that! Of course, it is still really early in the year, but we are starting to see some trends develop in these rankings. First of all, to date, UNCG, The Citadel, and Chattanooga have probably been the worst teams. Samford is not far off from there. Davidson is the best team, followed by College of Charleston, with Wofford and Elon battling it out for the third and fourth spots.
It's interesting to look at these things as they continue to develop. With each passing day, Sagarin and KenPom rely more and more on this year's games only and less and less on last year's games. This year's games are becoming more and more important- which is why you see the Mocs sinking like a rock to the bottom of the standings (they have not been good so far).
Furman has been better than expected, and these rankings bear that out too.
Very interesting.
