Double Dribbles- 12-7-11

1) Jake Cohen was named SoCon Player of the Week. He averaged 21 points and six rebounds for the week. He scored 26 against Wofford and 16 against Furman. Cohen definitely deserved the award this week. He was the second consecutive Davidson player to win the award. Cohen is probably not going to win Player of the Year or anything, but he is a solid player that is a major contributor to one of the top two teams in the conference. Cohen needs to have a big game for the Wildcats to beat Vanderbilt on Wednesday night.

2) Furman dominated Virginia-Wise and The Citadel was hammered by Coastal Carolina as expected on Wednesday night. But Appalachian State battled Minnesota down to the end before losing, but the Mountaineers continued to prove that they are a contender in the North race. But the best performance of the night belonged to Wofford, who beat previously 9-0 Tulane by 11. That was what they lead by for most of the game too. They really just beat down the Green Wave. That is a good win for Wofford. The Terriers are a real threat to finish at least third in the South, if not higher. This South race gets more and more interesting with each passing day.
