Tennessee Temple: Four Factors

After each game, I will give the totals on each of the Four Factors. In brief overview, there are four factors which are eFG%, TO%, OR%, and FTRate. The eFG% number indicates how well a team shoots, giving an extra boost for made three pointers. TO% indicates what percentage of possessions a team commits a turnover on. OR% indicates what percentage of offensive rebounds each team gets, or how many offensive rebounds a team gets compared to how many total rebounds were possible. FTRate indicates how many free throws each team attempts compared to how many field goals they attempt. These have been labelled the Four Factors To Winning by many statisticians, as it appears that they are normally the reasons teams win or lose. They are listed in order of importance. I also include a fifth stat, which is 3PTRate, which is three pointers attempted compared to how many field goals were attempted overall. The Mocs have shot a lot of threes in the past- sometimes too many. This helps to show how many threes are shot.
