Daily Dribbles- 11-5-12

--Looks like Elon's freshman are ready to go. The Phoenix are hopeful this year's class can be the one to put them over the top in their quest for the SoCon Championship.

--Charleston beat USC-Aiken 68-52 in an exhibition game over the weekend. The Cougars looked pretty solid, but the new regime will be judged more by the postseason results this year than the exhibition results. Read the game review here.

--The SoCon favorite Wildcats pounded away at Belmont Abbey. Read a full summary here.

--At the end of the week, Elon goes to Butler to play in the Maui Invitational. Ummm....Maui on the Mainland? Yep- happened to UNCG last year. Now Elon gets their turn. The Phoenix have a shot at Butler, but they will have to play a great game.

--In one tournament that doesn't get any national attention but means a lot to the teams, The Citadel will participate in the All-Military Classic this weekend. This year, they will get to host the military schools. They will face VMI in the first round- the same day the two hook up on the gridiron. Air Force and Army will also square off in Charleston. The two winners will meet on Sunday, as will the two losers.  Air Force won it last year, VMI was second, The Citadel won third, and Army finished fourth. I'll be interested to see where the teams finish this year.

--Chattanooga is the only team not to play this weekend. They will not tip-off until Mondayt against Tennessee Temple.
