Daily Dribbles- 11-13-12

--UNCG survived against Winston Salem State, a DII team. It was not always pretty, and the Spartans are showing a huge weakness inside. A realistic question- is UNCG still the favorite in the North? There is improvement, but I'm beginning to doubt this team is the favorite. Elon, who was behind them in the preseason by many accounts, may have moved ahead of them.

--Samford showed a very average offense, and also had a pretty poor rebounding effort against Martin Methodist. But their defense was brilliant and the Bulldogs won 59-40.

--Wofford utterly dominated the glass against Webber International, but only lead by nine points at halftime. Then they pulled away for a 87-54 win.  The Terriers looked very good.

--Will High Point get to join the SoCon if they beat Appalachian State and Chattanooga this year? Maybe that should be a rule. Since HPU already beat UNCG, this could add intrigue to the rule. They get their shot against the Mountaineers on Tuesday night.

  1. G didn't look great at times, but it wasn't as much survival as it might it appear. The possession number was near 90. If they can keep up that pace, opponents are going to wilt eventually. It has happened in all 3 of theirgames so far (HPU just built too big of a lead). Post defense is very much a rough spot though. They've got to find some way to guard in the post without fouling. Hasn't happened yet.

Don't throw in the towel on them just yet, though. I think its gonna take the entire OOC to get things right.
