SoCon Monster Game of the Week: Davidson 75, Vanderbilt 65

There is no controlling Davidson's offense- you can only hope to contain them. The Wildcats shot 50% from the floor. They made naerly 43% from three point range.

For the Wildcats, Jake Cohen finally looked like himself. He made 6 of 11 from the field, scoring 14 points. Nik Cochran scored 14 points. De'Mon Brooks poured in 19 points.

This team is so good and so efficient offensively. They are not a great defensive team. Kedren Johnson scored 28 and Kyle Fuller scored 14 tonight. No one else scored more than six, so the Wildcats did a good job containing the rest of the roster. However, they do struggle guarding on the perimeter. That is still a problem for this club.

But a win over Vanderbilt it never a bad thing. They were very good on the offensive end, and that makes up for some of the potential defensive shortcomings. This Wildcats team will be playing West Virginia on Friday in Orlando, with a chance to advance to the Championship Game. That would be huge for the Wildcats and the SoCon.

Tyler Kalinoski got the start on Thursday. JP Kuhlman did not play. Kalinoski is very good and is always in the right place. I tend to think that Kalinoski is very good and underrated.

The Wildcats are a good team. I look forward to watching them continue in this Old Spice Classic.
