--Love this preview from The Sports Arsenal of The Citadel. The initial preview that was part of out SoCon Preview was excellent, but this preview may be even better.
--The preseason Coaches Teleconference is here. Always interesting to hear what different coaches have to say.
--There are just two new head coaches in the league this year. Doug Wojcik took over for Bobby Cremins (more or less) at College of Charleston. Bennie Seltzer took over at Samford for Jimmy Tillette. Both of those teams open Friday night. Charleston opens at home against Towson. Samford is on the road against Austin Peay.
--The tournament seeding has changed this year, just in case anyone doesn't know. The top team in each division receives a bye. The two teams with the next best SoCon records will receive the other two byes, regardless of division. This is a big change from previous years. It would have benefited the South in recent years. It could certainly benefit the South this year. The best SoCon record will get the number one seed. The other division winner will get the second bye. The rest of the teams will be ranked based solely on conference record. Very interesting change.
