Three Point Play

1) The best BracketBuster game has to be College of Charleston's battle with Vermont. It's nationally televised. Vermont is ranked #71 and the Cougars are #77. This should be a great game. As much as it pains me- we in the SoCon should all be rooting for College of Charleston. The conference is 0-3 so far this week in out of conference games. We desperately need a nationally televised win to get the conference some respect.

2) The biggest conference game is probably Elon hosting UNC-Greensboro. The winner takes command in the battle for fourth in the North, while the loser falls behind in that battle. If Elon wins, they will own the tiebreaker and be up by half a game on the Spartans. If UNCG wins, they will be up by 1.5 games on the Phoenix. This could be a very good SoCon game.

3) Is this the night? Is this when Georgia Southern finally gets their first conference win? Tonight, they battle The Citadel at home. This really could be the first SoCon win of the year for the Eagles. The Citadel has really been struggling lately, and Georgia Southern has been playing slightly better. In fact, Georgia Southern hosts both UNC-Greensboro and Elon later on this week. Is it possible that the Eagles will be able to pull of three straight wins heading into the SoCon Tournament? It's possible. That would not get them out of the sixth seed in the South, but it would build up some momentum heading into their showdown in the first round two weeks from today- likely against Appalachian State.
