From today until Saturday's games complete, the SoCon will feature some of the best basketball going. This is a great time to be into SoCon basketball.
UNCG battles Appalachian State in Greensboro and Elon hosts Western Carolina tonight, as all four teams try to get a bye in the North Division.
Tomorrow, Wofford visits College of Charleston- two of the top three teams record-wise, and the top two teams Power Rankings-wise in the whole conference. Davidson goes to Samford in a game that features two teams that are struggling- but both seem to be starting to come around. Furman goes to The Citadel in a game that could get the Bulldogs back into the race for third in the South, or could possibly push them closer to Davidson for the fifth spot. And yes, Georgia Southern visits the Mocs, in the lone game that appears to be a real dud on the schedule.
On Saturday, the Mocs visits Davidson in a game that could define both teams February. Wofford visits The Citadel in another deeply intriguing game. Furman goes to College of Charleston in another game that could make it very close in the South Division. Samford visits Georgia Southern in a game that looks like a game that the Eagles really could win. Appalachian State at Elon along with UNCG's trip to Western Carolina will further define the bye race in the North.
There are eleven games out of twelve that are almost impossible to forecast who will win. They are great games that will really shape the entire month of February. This ought to be one of the best stretches of games in the SoCon this year.
GO MOCS!
