ANALYSIS

It's a strange week in the SoCon, as there are just seven conference games this week. Two of the games are North vs. South- leaving eleven North vs. South match-ups for the final week. That means that the Battle of North vs. South (regardless of what happens this week) will come down to the final week. The South leads 20-15. Each division is trying to get to 25 to win the Battle of North vs. South. That means the South needs just five more, while the North needs ten more. Furman and Wofford both are big favorites at Samford this week. So we'll have to wait and see how that plays out.

The SoCon Monster Game of the Week is Western Carolina's visit to Appalachian State. The two teams are still hoping to win the North Division title, but the Mountaineers will need a lot of help to get it. However, if the Mountaineers beat Western Carolina, they can move into position to possibly steal a bye from the Catamounts in the North Division. Western won earlier on a last second shot. This game should come down to the wire as well.

We'll have analysis of the BracketBusters for the SoCon teams as the week progresses. Those will happen on Saturday.

There are eight out of conference games this week for the SoCon. The SoCon needs to come up with wins out of conference. It will help the conference RPI and help the national perception of the conference if they can have a good week out of conference. If that happens, the SoCon Tournament Champion can have a stronger case for a better seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Only two weeks left in the regular season. Three weeks from today will be Semifinal Sunday in the SoCon Tournament. It's getting very very close.

GO MOCS!
