SoCon Wednesday Preview

A daily preview of each SoCon game.

Wednesday Thought

From three games down to one. Due to bad weather, there is only one game this day. It was the best game of this day, though. UNCG-Georgia Southern is important. The loser can more or less kiss their bye chances good-bye. The winner has a chance at the bye. This is it.

UNCG at Georgia Southern

The Spartans will need Kayel Locke and Kyle Cain to step up in the paint. They are much bigger than the Eagles. That will be the point where the Spartans will have to dominate. Jelani Hewitt and Tre Bussey will try to get the Spartans into foul trouble and control the perimeter. These two teams faced off a couple of weeks ago, and the Eagles didn't score for the final four minutes, but held on for the win. Kyle Doyle collected thirteen points and twelve rebounds for the Eagles. Cain had four fouls and Locke had three. If the Spartans can't stay out of foul trouble, this will be another bad night for UNCG. Look for the foul trouble to pick up again and for Hewitt to score big points again. Eagles 69, Spartans 63.
