A daily preview of each SoCon game.
Sunday Thought
If both teams win their mid-week games, this becomes huge. It could be even bigger if UNCG wins and Western loses mid-week. The Spartans have not been able to take out a top level SoCon team yet this year and it would be a huge confidence boost to get this one. There will be teams all up and down the standings paying attention to this one because it matters so much to seeding come SoCon Tournament time.
Western Carolina at UNCG
The Catamounts have been shaky at best during their recent games. Trey Sumler and James Sinclair have been good, and Tawaski King is a good inside presence. That being said, the Spartans inside game is the key. Kayel Locke and Kyle Cain are very good....if they can avoid foul trouble, which has not been easy. The Spartans are a defensive team that has gotten better, but is struggling on the offensive end. The Catamounts guard play against the Spartans inside play. This is going to be a fun one. The Catamounts dominated UNCG in the first time around. This is going to be an interesting game. I have no idea who wins, truthfully. I'll take the home team who has an extra day off. Spartans 71, Catamounts 70.
