SoCon Schedule- Week Four

Thursday

Appalachian State at The Citadel, 7:00
This game matters to both teams. If the Mountaineers can win, they can get into the bye race in the SoCon Tournament. The Bulldogs are desperate for a win of any kind.

Elon at Chattanooga, 7:00
This is a tremendous showdown between the preseason SoCon favorite and the team that currently leads the SoCon. The Mocs are desperate to prove they belong at the top. The Phoenix hope to knock them off their perch.

Davidson at Western Carolina, 7:00
Can the Catamounts avoid having one loss become two? Can Davidson win another big road game? This game is just one more challenge for Western Carolina in their early SoCon schedule.

Wofford at Georgia Southern, 7:00
Now, things get interesting for the Terriers. Despite having three SoCon losses already, the Terriers are right in the mix for a bye, especially if they beat Georgia Southern. The Eagles lost to Appalachian State. Avoiding another loss right now is critically.

The Spartans better be real careful here. They have lost in their two statement games against Western Carolina and Davidson. An unexpected loss to Samford would be the most damaging. Samford can get right into the bye race with a home upset.

Saturday

Wofford at Furman, 2:00
The Paladins are hungry to get their second consecutive win and get right into the bye race. The Terriers really could use the sweep on this road trip, and if they get it, they may fulfill Mike Young's prediction that they would get back into the SoCon race.

Western Carolina at The Citadel, 7:00
The Catamounts can't afford a loss to a team like the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have been so close. When are they going to get that conference win? Will it be Thursday night? Will they be going for two in a row on Saturday?

Georgia Southern at Davidson, 7:00
The Eagles have lost a couple of games and will be challenged going to Davidson. The Wildcats need to avoid SoCon home losses right now to ensure that they stay at the top of the conference.

Elon at Samford, 7:00
Can the Bulldogs get a couple of home wins this weekend? If they do, they would really be in the SoCon bye race. Can the Phoenix get a couple of road wins this weekend? If they do, they'll be in real good shape in the SoCon race.

UNCG at Chattanooga, 7:00 ESPN3
The Spartans could use a win over one of the SoCon's elite. Are the Mocs part of the SoCon elite? I don't know. But we'll have a better idea by the time this game happens since the Mocs will have played Elon by then. This is important for both teams in the pecking order of where they stand.
