--I've added a new SoCon feature to the blog- SoCon This Week. Be sure to check out the weekly schedule and the Thursday preview. It's a tentative add for now, because
I'm not sure if it is going to stick around in this form or not. I'm interested in what people think of it. Is it something people will be interested in each week? What could be better about it? If you have time to give some feedback, please feel free.
--College of Charleston upset Davidson in Belk Arena to start off the New Year, winning 76-64. This shows that Davidson is still inconsistent and still hard to call the clear favorite in the SoCon. Are they the favorite? Probably. But it is not the clear favorite that they have been other years.
--AppHoops is back to it this week, after taking time off so he didn't have to think about how App hasn't beaten a D1 team yet this year.
--Ty Toney and Tevin Baskin were out with injury for Appalachian State on Tuesday night. Jay Canty is going to be back this weekend for the Mountaineers. Are they about to get it together? They probably need Canty, Toney and Baskin all together.
--SoCon season is underway! On Thurday night, Samford hosts Wofford and UNCG goes to Western Carolina. This should be a great day and I can't wait to get to the SoCon season on Thursday evening.
--UNCG goes to Western Carolina in what is one tremendous SoCon basketball game on Thursday night. Should be a ton of fun. Purple & Gold has a preview.
