Coach Will Wade has asked the Moc fans to come out in force for this Thursday's massive SoCon showdown against Elon. He wants 5000 to show up for the game.

Let's be honest- the team has earned that kind of excitement. The Mocs are 6-0 in SoCon play and are playing the preseason SoCon favorite that just beat Davidson on the road last Thursday. This is the sort of game the Moc fans need to show up for.

Will the city show up or not? I have no idea if they will come out or not. I think everyone should show up and bring a friend. Seriously? What more could this team do to get you turn out?

They went 2-0 on a road trip for just this second time this century when they beat Furman and The Citadel. Then, the Mocs came home, and beat Samford and Wofford. Then the Mocs went on the road and went 2-0 on a road trip for just the third time this century when they beat Appalachian State and Wofford.

The Mocs are the final unbeaten team in the SoCon.

The Mocs have the SoCon Player of the Year favorite in Z Mason.

Casey Jones, Rico White and maybe even Martynas Bareika could earn spots on an All SoCon team with their play so far.

Gee McGhee has developed his game beyond just being a driver and scorer.

These are just some kind of teams that learn how to win and develop as the season goes along. That's what this team is all about. Will Wade has changed his style of play to fit in with the players he has. This team was not a good defensive team. Then, Coach Wade changed the defense from man-to-man to a zone defense, and suddenly the Mocs are one of the better defensive teams in the SoCon.

This team has earned 5000. They deserve 5000. I hope 5000 show up in full voice on Thursday night.
