Double Dribbles-11-14-11

1) Anyone who watched the Wofford-Georgia game had to come away thinking that the Terriers may not go as quietly as we thought they would as the two time defending champs of the SoCon. They were far from perfect, but they hung into the game late into the game- which is far more than Western Carolina can say about their showdown with South Carolina or UNCG can say about their trip to Tennessee. Combine that performance of Wofford's with The Citadel's solid showing in the All Military Classic (a three point loss to VMI and a double digit win over Army) and suddenly the South may still be better than the North.

2) The North's bright spot may have been Elon's showing against Massachusetts. The Phoenix were ahead at halftime against the Minutemen before falling in the second half. Elon has been rumored to be ahead of their predicted finish, and after UNCG and Western Carolina's poor showings against the worst the SEC has to offer, Elon might be considered one of the favorites in the North. The Phoenix are quickly making themselves one of the more interesting teams to follow as we go along in the season. The Phoenix host South Carolina on Tuesday.
