--It's opening day! It's opening day! For those SoCon basketball lovers in us all, it's a pretty solid day too. You can watch The Citadel-VMI at 3:30 on ESPNU, pay for the video over on GoMocs for the Covenant-Chattanooga at 5:30, watch Davidson-Duke on ESPNU at 7:00, and watch Appalachian State-North Carolina State at 7:00 on ESPN3 (meaning you can have Davidson-Duke on your TV and Appalachian State-NCSU on your computer). Of course, your team may be playing somewhere in there too, which may inhibit some of your watching. But a tripleheader of SoCon basketball? After eight months off from SoCon basketball? Yes, please.

--Qadree Smith committed to UNCG yesterday. He is a three star prospect and the #6 player out of Virginia. This is a great get for UNCG. At this point, it's nice to see teams staying in the SoCon getting some solid recruits. This is great for the Spartans and for the SoCon.
