ANALYSIS

The South is two tantalizing wins away from clinching the battle for this year. They can clinch in the midweek games. On Wednesday, Samford heads to Davidson in a revenge game for the Wildcats. Charleston heads to hot UNCG, in a revenge game for the Cougars. Elon heads to Wofford. If for some reason the South does not win two out of those three (and they will be favored in at least two of them), then the South could clinch when The Citadel goes to Western Carolina on Thursday night. Saturday would present three more chances for the South. There would be one the following Tuesday, one on Wednesday, and two more on Thursday. That will wrap up the battle. The North faces a major uphill battle here, and is likely to lose several more. This race is going to go pretty clearly to the South. Of course, the battle starts all over in the SoCon Tournament with a special postseason battle, that gets added on to the year totals. So things can still change, but the North has been a disappointment this year.
