--Trevis Simpson scored 41 points for UNCG against the Mocs on Sunday afternoon. The Spartans win was nice, but the health of Simpson and his efforts are a sign that they are going to make a run in the North after all.--Interestingly enough, Appalachian State goes to College of Charleston on Wednesday. The Cougars are not a great home team. Can the Mountaineers pull the upset?
--With UNCG surging, the Spartans have a big week. UNCG hosts the North leading Phoenix, and then travel to College of Charleston. Beat Elon, and UNCG will find their way into a prime position to contend in the North after all.
"a sign that they are going to make a run in the North after all." I'm not so sure I agree that they can make a run. Yes they did beat a crippled Mocs team, and have a two point win over Samford. But just four days prior to the Samford win, they lost to Furman at home by 8. If they can beat Elon you maybe on to something. But, that's a mighty big IF.
